In Their Glorious Company
These portraits of British Second World War veterans are the work of portrait photographer Robin Savage. Launched on 8th May 2025 for the 80th anniversary of V.E. Day, the website showcases his collection of photographs of those who came home; the people who served and were fortunate enough to live long lives. It is categorised into various projects, candid photographs of veterans at events and portraits taken on location in France and the UK, and in their homes.
About Robin Savage
I've been photographing Second World War veterans since 2012. The purpose of my photographs is to honour, commemorate and uphold the memories of the veterans. They are a thank you for the astonishing deeds they did all those years ago. Some of my fondest memories are of times spent in their company, and it is a distinct privilege to have been in the presence of so many over the years.

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the family members, the people who work at the various associations, charities, museums and care homes that have helped me so much in my pursuit. No thanks is bigger than that which I owe to the veterans.
